| My novel The Strikeout Artist, which chronicles the brief baseball career of Franz Kafka, is available from BlazeVOX [Books]. I hope you'll read it, because I'm super proud of it and the beautiful job BlazeVOX did with it. I'm currently at work on a new novel featuring Elvis and Martians. I don't know why it took me so long to put those two together. I've been named co-editor of Miami University Press, and I couldn't be happier or more honored to be part of its history and mission. Our most recent novella is Terri Lewis's When They Came Home, which is getting a lot of very well-deserved attention; you should check it out. Next up for the press is the strange, heartfelt Necessary Cuts from debut author Chris Dodds, which is forthcoming in Spring of 2027.
I've been thinking a lot lately about writing and depression, probably because I'm a writer with depression. Speaking of, I've got a couple of video games—or are they interactive narratives?—in progress, one of which is titled Depression Boy.
